Man arrested for rapping his wife
A 55-year-old man has been arrested for raping his wife in Zola, Soweto, Gauteng police said on Wednesday. The two are married with 6 children and 4 grandchildren.
Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said the man allegedly raped his wife on January 1st, when she returned home from a party.
“The man forcefully undressed her and raped,” he said. The woman went to the police and the man was arrested. He was expected to appear in the Protea Magistrate’s Court.

Another update: Man arrested for raping, chopping up wife
An Eastern Cape man wanted for allegedly raping his wife, killing her then chopping up her body has been arrested after three years on the run.
“He allegedly raped and killed his 24-year-old wife in February 2008 in their house in Ndevana location [in Mdantsane],” Captain Ernest Sigobe said.
“It is further alleged that he chopped her into pieces with an axe and put her in a sleeping bag and then placed it in the fridge.”
The 26-year-old was arrested at Potsdam township, near Mdantsane, yesterday evening, after absconding to Soweto, southern Joburg.
